The Dyson Airwrap and the Shark FlexStyle are the two most-requested items in our beauty category. We get this question almost every week, so we sat down with a Dhaka-based stylist to run a proper comparison.
Both tools use air rather than extreme heat to style. This matters a lot for South Asian hair, which tends to be thick and prone to frizz. Lower heat = less damage over time.
The Dyson uses Coanda airflow to wrap hair around the barrel automatically. The Shark uses "auto-wrap" technology that's conceptually similar — but slightly less refined.
Winner: Dyson (marginally)
At SBD, the Dyson Airwrap is priced at ৳45,000 and the Shark FlexStyle at ৳32,000. That's a ৳13,000 difference — significant for most households.
Winner: Shark
The Dyson Complete comes with 6 attachments. The Shark FlexStyle comes with 5 or 6 depending on the bundle. Both cover curling, smoothing, and drying.
Winner: Tie
If budget isn't a concern and you have fine to medium hair, the Dyson is worth it. If you have thick, coarse, or curly hair — or simply want to save ৳13,000 — the Shark FlexStyle delivers comparable results at a better price.
Both are available as pre-orders on Shipment #14. Cutoff: June 2.
